*Wood mantels are made of combustible materials that are subject to local, uniform and national building code requirements. Before purchasing a wood mantel please check code requirements in your community, along with the firebox manufacturers’ recommendations regarding placement and installation of surrounds.. In many cases, combustible materials should not be closer than 12” from the firebox  on the sides and more above the firebox depending on shelf depth.
